What is the Design Power Index?

The Design Power Index — formally known as the Design-Driven Economic Impact Index (DDEII) — is an economic framework developed to measure and track the value generated by organisations through the strategic use of design.

Assessed by the Design Business Chamber Singapore (DBCS) in partnership with Consulus, the index evaluates how companies create economic value, develop new markets, integrate technology with design thinking and contribute to social impact.

Uniseal was recognised under the Market of Design category for its integrated circular urbanscape systems that combine green and blue infrastructure solutions. Through its four core pillars — Urban Greenery, Ecological Solutions, Green Engineering and Waterproofing — Uniseal integrates research, manufacturing and sustainable materials to deliver holistic solutions for the built environment.

A key differentiator lies in the company’s use of recycled plastics to create durable, high-performance systems for landscape and water management. By transforming waste into resilient infrastructure components and pioneering regional micro-manufacturing partnerships, Uniseal demonstrates how circular design can generate scalable economic and environmental value.

The recognition was formally celebrated at the World Business Design Forum at Gardens by the Bay, held in conjunction with the 40th Anniversary Gala Dinner of the Design Business Chamber Singapore.

As part of a three-year longitudinal study, the Design Power Index aims to raise awareness of how design shapes economic growth and long-term societal impact. Being shortlisted affirms Uniseal’s commitment to design not merely as aesthetics, but as a strategic driver of innovation, sustainability and resilient urban development.
